I’ve had an eye on ponchos and capes for a while now. In fact I have a few ponchos, but I rarely wear them as they look more like a full body cover on me rather than a poncho. I never give up, you know that, so I had a look around and found this lovely cape from Mango. It’s supposed to be cropped arm length and because of this it suits me perfectly! It’s perfect for those days when you wear a thick knitted jumper. You know, like those jumpers that make you look like a Michelin man, unable to move properly and leaving you with the sleeves stuck half way up your arms. For those jumpers, capes are perfect. I’m really happy with this one, but I’m afraid it’s currently sold out. And there are not many nice capes out there but luckily I’ve found a few nice ones for you.
When I wear voluminous clothes on one body part I balance it out on the other parts of my body. For example if I would be wearing my beloved boyfriend jeans with this cape it would look like the whole outfit is massively oversized. So if you are going for a cape this season, go for slim or skinny jeans on the bottom.
If you you like stripes as much as I do with a cape it’s best to wear vertical ones as horizontal ones would add in more volume.
With this outfit I chose to wear my new heels from Bruno Premi. I love the studs as they give the whole outfit a bit of an edge. I’m usually wearing size UK 2 but with ankle boots I always try whether one size bigger fits me as the shoes stay longer in shape that way.
