I used to have to bring new clothes straight to the tailor as they didn’t fit me properly. Not sure about you, but when I buy something new I want to wear it straight away, not have to wait for another week. Sometimes it’s even longer depending on whether I have the time to go to the tailor or not.
Recently I have realised that I only had two pairs of trousers shortened in the last five years! Which is a bit weird as I’m definitely buying more clothes than ever before. I came to the conclusion that it must be because of two reasons.
Firstly, there are way more brands with petite lines than ever before.
Secondly, fashion trends work more in petite girls’ favour. I’m thinking of the ‘cropped trend’, ‘oversized trend’ and ‘distressed/undone trend’.
The ‘cropped trend’ trousers and jackets work out well because they usually look like regular length on petites.
Also, thanks to the ‘distressed/undone trend’ you can simply cut your jeans to the length you want them to be.
So great times for us petite girls!
With this pleated skirt I’ve pulled it up to my waistline. High waisted skirts and pants give the illusion of longer legs. Also this way I can bring the skirt a bit higher up to make a more flattering length. Depending on the type of waistband you could also fold it over one time to bring it to the right length. I would suggest to not fold it more often than once as it may look too bulky.
I’ve also found some more gorgeous pleated skirts, which I hope you love as much as I do. Just click on the picture and you will be directed to the page where you can buy them.
I’ll see you next week,
