Pastel tones have always been fashionable, but this Spring and Summer the fashion industry takes the pastel tones trend to a whole different level. While Spring is not quite here and temperatures have seriously dropped over the last couple of weeks, I couldn’t wait to wear this trend.
Pastel tones are extremely feminine and combined appropriately they look classy and elegant.
It takes a bit more care and attention to combine pastel tones in a fashionable way and not just throw them randomly together. If not done in the right way, you run the risk of looking washed out with all the lovely pieces, which look gorgeous on their own and don’t give that wow-factor when you wear them all together.
How to rock the pastel tones trend
You can wear this trend from head to toe in the same colour. This can be tricky though, as the colours need to be in the same tone if not the exact same colour. If you however able to do this the right way, this is perfect for girls who want to appear a bit taller.
If you are new to this trend and want to be on the safe side, wear at least one item that breaks the colour scheme up. In my pics I chose to wear a pink sweater to add a pop of colour. If I would have chosen to wear a light grey sweater, I would find that the outfit would lack vibrancy and I would have made me looked washed out.
Wearing a pair of washed out denims can look great with pastel tones. Another simple way to add denim and to break the colour scheme is to tie your denim shirt or denim jacket around your waist.
If you are petite try to avoid too many patterns as this usually makes you appear smaller, while block coloured outfits can help to make you look taller. On a side note, wearing darker colours than the rest of your outfit below your waist is usually more flattering for smaller petite frames.
I you don’t have colour that pops in your outfit, wear accessories in different colours.

Play a bit around with different pastel tones. It’s fun and it gives you those spring vibes even though it’s still cold outside. Also check out my blog post about black and white outfits here.
Have a great week my girls!
